How to Have A Beautiful Body

Having a beautiful body is solely based on your definition of beautiful. Some may think having a soft and curvaceous body is beautiful, whereas others may think a myriad of muscles is beautiful. Once you have figured out what type of body you consider to be beautiful, you can take the steps to get there.

Step 1

Take a good look at your diet and exercise regimen. If you constantly consume a lot of foods high in fat, salt or sugar, it could have a negative effect on your body. These types of foods can cause weight gain, acne and also affect your heart and other organs. Not eating enough food is also just as damaging. Starving your body of nutrients and vitamins can be the cause of hair loss, pale skin or cause problems with the general body functions.

Any exercise is better than none. Get up and get moving if you have not already. Regular exercise can release endorphins that give a “feel good” effect. When you feel good, you look good.

Step 2

Look at your family. Genetics can usually determine what your body could look like. If your definition of beautiful is 6 feet tall and a size 4, but your family line is no taller than 5 feet tall and a size 10, you may need to redefine your definition of beauty. On the other hand, if you are 200 pounds and living a sedentary lifestyle, however, your family exercises regularly and weighs much less than you, there is a strong possibility you could look like them if you start exercising.

Step 3

Stop taking harmful substances. Alcohol, drugs and smoking can really wreck the body and its functions. Smoking can cause premature aging, wrinkles or yellow teeth. Alcohol can cause the “beer gut” or “pooch” effect by causing fat to build around the stomach area. Any form of substance abuse can wreak havoc on your body, causing it to be anything but beautiful.

Step 4

Do your research. If you want your body to look like a bodybuilder’s because you think muscles are really beautiful, surround yourself with bodybuilders. Go to the gyms where they train, read magazines, look at pictures and talk to them. Find out what it takes for a bodybuilder to get the body to look that way. After your research, you may realize that this body type may not be right for you, or may not be possible for you to achieve. You may also realize after a thorough research of body types that you already have a beautiful body.

Quick Tips for Beauty on the Go

Your home makeup kit is probably pretty complete, but how do you maintain when you’re at work, after a workout, out on the town or on the road? Here are my quick tips for looking your best while on the go:

At Work

You definitely want to invest in duplicates of your at-home makeup basics to keep in your desk drawer at work. This enables you to freshen up before a big meeting or retouch your face if you’re going out right after work. Your basics include:

• Concealer
• Foundation
Pressed powder (with mirror, of course)
• Blush
• Lip balm, color and/or gloss
• Black eyeliner and white or silver eye shadow to create a quick evening eye
• Mini brushes
• A small, travel-sized toothbrush and toothpaste set
• Perfume

In Your Gym Bag

After a good workout, you want to clean your face and reapply your makeup from scratch. Be sure to bring:

• Face-cleaning cloths
• Moisturizer
• Customized face palette, or at the very least a concealer, tinted moisturizer, gloss and mascara

Evening Bag

Tiny purses look great, but don’t fit a lot so be selective and pack the smallest versions you can find of:

• Gloss
• Lip pencil
• A powder compact or blotting papers
• Customizable palette with concealer, stick foundation, cream blush and lipstick
• Mini perfume
• Breath mints (so your breath will be as fresh as your face!)

For Travel

I recommend keeping a travel beauty kit packed at all times so you never have to worry about arriving at your destination without your essentials. Invest in several small, airline-regulation size plastic bottles, label them and fill them with your beauty staples. Add mini brushes, mascara and a small eye palette. Here is your “must-pack” list:

• Travel-size shampoo and conditioner
• Body and facial moisturizers
• Makeup palettes with all your basics
• Mini mascara
• Face powder, bronzer (great pick-me-up for travel-weary skin)
• Self-tanner
• Lipstick or gloss
• A brush roll of travel-size makeup brushes
• Tweezers
• Hairbrush and hairspray
• Perfume in a mini or compact version
• Perfumed body creams

Tip: Collect deluxe samples from makeup counters—they’re perfect for all of your kits, plus they’re a great, no-risk way to try new products for free.

To keep your kits fresh and healthy, you’ll want to get rid of any makeup that’s past its expiration date:

Two years for liquid and cream foundation, concealer, powder, eye shadow, powder blush, cream blush, moisturizer, sunscreen and face cream.

12 to 18 months for lipstick and lip and eye pencils.

6 months for mascara and eye cream.

And by the way, while I’m a big fan of makeup brushes (and will be sharing my top tips on brushes in an upcoming column), nothing beats the warmth of the fingers to blend makeup into the skin. Lipstick can be blotted onto the lips to create a stained effect. Face cream, balm or oil rubbed between both palms and then gently pressed onto cheeks adds moisture and a youthful glow to the face. I use my hands to warm concealers, blend foundation, and mix lip shades together. I also use my hands to work makeup into the face so that the makeup feels like a part of the skin and not like a mask.

Top 5 Hair Myths Revealed

There are so many different beliefs and viewpoints on hair care and styling that sometimes you can get confused as to which of these are actually true. It even happens sometimes that you get devastated when you discover that the method you have been practicing almost your entire life is a myth.
To avoid this from happening, it is essential that you know some of the common misconceptions or myths about hair so that you do not make the mistake of believing or practicing them. Listed below are some of them.

Myth # 1 – You need to wash your hair daily.

Just like the need to take a bath every day, it sounds sensible to wash your hair daily too. However, you have to know that the latter is not necessary. In fact, doing so can only strip it of the essential oils needed to maintain its healthy gloss and sheen. Even if you plan to use a mild shampoo, it would still be better if you give your tresses a break from shampoo within the week.

Myth # 2 – Shaving your hair can alter its texture.

This is a belief that has long been held by parents who make the mistake of thinking that shaving their baby’s scalp will result in a change in hair texture. This is not true. It will remain the same texture even if you go bald. This means that if you detest your frizzy hair, shaving your head is not necessarily the solution because it will not magically grow healthy and shiny afterwards.

Myth # 3 – Constant use of hair equipment can damage it.

This belief actually depends on what kind of equipment you are using. For instance, if you are using FHI irons, then you really have nothing to worry about even if you practically iron your hair thrice a week. However, if you are using cheap generic irons that make use of PTC heaters, which are not capable of sustaining consistent heat, then you will be in a lot of trouble.

Remember, high quality irons and other equipment are equipped with a technology that will not be harmful to your hair. FHI irons, for example, has an adjustable heat setting that allows you to set the temperature ideal for your hair type and texture. Moreover, it emits negative ions that contribute to a healthy glow in your locks.

Myth # 4 – Applying lemon juice on it will lighten your blonde hair.

Lemon juice as a natural lightener is not only ineffective; it is also a waste of time. If you want to lighten your blonde hair, the best way to do it is to go to a salon, consult a professional stylist and find out what kind of coloring treatment will be suitable for you.

Myth # 5 – There is nothing wrong with using hair products that are not ideal for its type.

Many people make the mistake of thinking that using products ideal for another person’s hair type is all right. But the truth is, this can contribute to unhealthy hair or worsen a problem if you have one. For example, if you have oily hair, and you used a shampoo for a dry one , a result of this will be greasier hair.

Knowing the difference between a fact and a myth when it comes to hair care and styling will help you go a long way in ensuring that yours is well taken care of.

For more than 4,000 years, coconut water has been revered as a natural source of nutrition, wellness, beauty and hydration. In times of famine and war, coconut water has been used as an intravenous fluid and saved many lives. It’s the only natural substance that can be safely injected into the human blood stream. Now modern science has validated its effectiveness, especially as a natural sports drink.

Now being touted as a natural energy drink, coconut water has been used for centuries in the treatment of dehydration. This is due to high electrolytes and potassium contained in the drink. In the absence of a medical-based intravenous solution, it was even used during World War II as a means of hydrating soldiers. Those who live in regions where coconuts are grown drink coconut water on a regular basis and have long recognized its usefulness in fighting dehydration.

Need a Few Beauty Tips?

Nothing shows a woman’s beauty like her skin. When you skin glows all of you glows. How many times have we heard people comment on how beautiful a pregnant woman’s skin is? “She has such a glow,” people will say.

Have you ever wished that you could do something to improve your skin and make it glow? Have you spent a lot of time trying to hide blemishes or discolorations, or dullness? Have you just wanted it to look cleaner and clearer naturally, before you put on your lotions and make ups? If yes, then here’s a few natural beauty tips that you can do for your own skin.

Natural Beauty Tip #1: Drink lots of water! That is right. The more water you drink, the better you skin will look – How’s that for some completely free beauty advice.

Natural Beauty Tip #2: Eat plenty of fresh vegetables – the more uncooked ones you eat the better. That is some of the best beauty advice you will ever get. Your body needs all those minerals and nutrients that you get from raw and fresh vegetables. Your skin will thank and reward you with a healthy glow.

Natural Beauty Tip #3: Do not smoke cigarettes. Nicotine yellows your skin, clogs your pores and gives you those nasty blackheads. That’s not only a beauty tip, it is a health tip. Think of what it must do to the rest of your body, if it can do that to your skin! Just don’t smoke.

Natural Beauty Tip #4: Take your vitamins! They keep you healthy, help you sleep, and if you are taking the right vitamins they nourish not only your blood but your skin. All that nourishment will make you look and feel younger. As we all know, when we feel good, we look good. The real secret to beauty!

Natural Beauty Tip #5: Get plenty of rest. Don’t stay up too late, then get up too early, and do it too many days in a row. Sure, there are those times when we have to go the extra mile and it may show for a day in our overall beauty. Just don’t make a habit of it. Sleep is the time when the body regenerates. Let it get its full regeneration.

Natural Beauty Tip #6: Try to reduce stress in your life (and the beauty tips above will all help with that). Nothing shows on your whole body like stress: the way you walk, the look in your eye, the haggard appearance of your skin, the way you talk, even the way you sit in your chair. Here’s a little beauty advice: your stress shows on your whole body so do not let that stress become overwhelming.

The funny thing about these beauty tips is that you can easily see that it really is just one big beauty tip: keep yourself healthy and happy and it will show in your skin. Then when you use your creams and make up, and your lovely scents and soaps it will make you even that much more beautiful than you are naturally.

Make Your Own Natural Homemade Beauty Recipes

If you want to learn how to make your own natural products at home, then you can easily use these convenient natural homemade beauty recipes! There are a number of home recipes that you can make to treat your skin, and the best part of all is that they will come from ingredients that you may already have within your kitchen cabinets.

One of the main benefits to making natural homemade beauty recipes is that they will provide you with a healthy alternative to many of the over-the-counter products that are full of harmful chemical ingredients. It is important to be mindful of what you put on your skin since it is the largest living and breathing organ in your body. Another advantage to using these types of homemade products is that you will save money and also help the environment. Many commercial cosmetics companies use chemical or detergent ingredients, and when they are rinsed from your skin, they can become toxic to the Earth’s water supply.

Some handy items to use from your kitchen for natural homemade beauty recipes are bananas, oatmeal, honey, olive oil, mayonnaise, yogurt, and Epsom salts. These are just a few examples of helpful ingredients from your kitchen that can be used for hair or skin care! Perhaps two of the most common ingredients to have at your disposal for these natural recipes are natural soap bars and beeswax. These natural waxes can be purchased at health food store locations, and if you are allergic to bees, there are also vegetable-based waxes as an alternative.

Olive oil is a beneficial ingredient for homemade beauty recipes because it provides a number of skin and hair care benefits. It can be used to deeply hydrate severely dry skin on the knees, feet, and elbows. It can also be added to a warm bath to soften your skin from head to toe, or even to massage into the hair to treat dry scalp.

To make a quick natural exfoliating treatment with olive oil, mix together olive oil with two times the ratio of brown sugar to make a paste. Use this exfoliating paste before taking a shower by gently massaging it into the surface of the skin, and then rinse well. This simple treatment would remove all dead skin cells and provide a fresh glow to the skin tone.

If you have bananas available, you can use them to moisturize severely dry skin. Start out by mashing a banana until it has a paste consistency, and then smooth it onto your face and hands and allow it to stay for 10 minutes. Rinse completely, and then apply olive oil directly after to treat severe dryness and damage to the skin.

These are just a few examples of everyday items that you can use at home to save you money in your beauty treatments! From there, you can also create herbal bath soaks, natural body scrubs, and even facial cleansers. This is your opportunity to not only treat your skin, but to also use healthy ingredients to improve the tone of your complexion!

The Buzz On Honey – An All Natural Beauty Product

Honey really is the bees knees when it comes to looking good and is no longer just a delicious, syrupy concoction that you spread on toast or drizzle in your tea. Consumers spend hundreds of millions of dollars every year on beauty products. Hair care, skin care, anti aging, acne treatments, etc. all contribute to the sales. If you’retired of dishing out the bucks for products that may or may not work, why not try nature’s all natural beauty product, honey. It’s cheap, it’s safe and it has hundreds of uses. Here are a few of the most popular beauty related uses of honey.

Honey for Your Skin

Using honey as a skin treatment is probably its most common use as a beauty product. Honey has been used in this role for thousands of years and provides a number of benefits to one’s skin. Honey is a natural moisturizer, which along with its thick consistency make it an excellent all around facial cleanser and treatment. Honey’s stickiness allows it to lift dirt and oil from the skin, leaving it fresh and clean. Honey mixed with a little bit of an abrasive substance, many people use finely chopped nuts, is a perfect all natural exfoliating scrub. Many people swear that honey mixed with corn starch is an effective treatment for acne. Honey is also a natural anti bacterial, which will aid in healing minor cuts and abrasions when applied to the skin. Perhaps this explains its effectiveness as an acne treatment.

Honey for your Hair

Honey can also do wonders for your hair. Honey make a very good conditioner that leaves hair moisturized and soft. Honey can be applied alone, but most people find it works better if it is combined with another substance. It can be combined with your regular conditioner to add a little kick, or you can mix it with olive oil to make your very own conditioner that will leave your hair shiny and soft. Some people add a little lemon juice to honey to gently lighten hair. Honey also adds a mild, natural fragrance to your conditioner that will leave your hair smelling great.

Honey for Hair Removal

Anyone who has ever endured the use of hot wax for hair removal will quickly learn to appreciate honey as an alternative. Women in the Arab world have used caramel to remove unwanted facial and body hair for thousands of years. Honey is easily substituted in place of the sugar in these recipes and is more effective. After cooking the honey with a little water and lemon juice, it cools into a sticky, gum-like substance.

This mixture is applied to the skin and used in hair removal, just like in waxing. The difference is that the honey need not be hot. A few minutes of kneading in the hands leaves it supple enough to apply. It relies on its stickiness to remove the hair and most women say it is painless compared to wax. An additional benefit is honey’s anti-bacterial properties which disinfect the skin as you remove the hair, preventing breakouts suffered by many women. The skin is also moisturized and left exfoliated.

Because honey is an all natural beauty product, experimentation can be a safe, rewarding experience. Honey as a beauty remedy/treatment is also good for the earth, unlike the chemicals that you will find in many of the products that are on the market today (that subsequently end up going down your bathroom drain). If you are looking to go green and reduce your carbon footprint, try to think of new ways you can use honey in place of your traditional products.
