Is Your Child a Drug Addict

 The mention of the term ‘drugs’ itself brings a fear in most of the parents of young, especially teenage, children. Teenage time is a very sensitive stage of a child’s life in which he can slip into wrong habits if proper guidance and check is not done. Fashion, trend, depression or most commonly, wrong company- all can lead your child into the self-destructing path of drug addiction. So, as a parent, what can you do? It is not easy to keep a strict vigilance on today’s youth and thus, you need to act with patience and understanding. Be firm yet friendly. But the main question is that how do you first come to know whether your child has gone astray or not?

 There are a few symptoms or behavioral changes which a drug addict generally displays. If your child has suddenly become aloof who avoids company, spends long hours in isolation, and has sudden bouts of anger, then you must become alert as this is one of the most important behavioral change displayed by drug addicted child. Moreover, such children generally display a sudden dip in academic performance, with a tendency to steal or borrow a lot. You can also recognize them through some physical changes like red and puffy eyes, unsteady gait, slurring of speech, loss of weight and also loss of appetite. If you notice all these changes, then become alert as your child might have gone astray.
